Dowling College
Brookhaven Sports Complex
A $20 Million Sports Complex on the 100-acre Brookhaven Campus.
Dowling College is Suffolk County’s longest standing four-year college. The Oakdale campus was founded in 1955 on the waterfront property of the Vanderbilt Estate.
The later expansion to the Brookhaven campus allowed Dowling to develop their Athletic Department by building a state of the art athletic facility on their 100-acre campus.
The $20 Million construction project allows the college to host on campus sporting events for the first time in their long history.
When it was completed, the complex has fields for softball, baseball, soccer and lacrosse.
There is also tennis courts and the student activity center which has a seating capacity of 1500 and houses basketball and volleyball.
Optel is the cabling and service provider of chose for all Dowling campuses.
The sports complex cable installation included a complex underground fiber optic system feeding their state of the art broadcasting tower and all communication systems.
The project was completed over the span of 6 months required rigorous trenching equipment and installation of dozens of manhole pull points.
